The Comic
The solicitation is right on with this one. I picked this book up late when my shop got some copies in and I must admit that it is intriguing. Arcadia is deciding to run for President of the US, and on the day she makes her speech to do so, she turns to her staff and says that aliens are trying to invade earth. Couple that with a guy who sees a hallucination of the Pioneer 10 couple and this looks like a good book.

This book reads at first like it is taking the stance that everyone who believes in aliens are crazy, which I don't mind. But it is doing so in an entertaining way. We get to know everyone around the staff and what parts they will play, as well as get a nice introduction to what creepy things may be happening the further along we go. It is a nice debut issue that will keep me around for another issue or two to see what is going on.

The Art
The strength of the art lies in the fact that each person is easily identifiable. Kelly's work her is strong and delivers just right. This is where disjointed panels come into play excellently here, because they happen for a reason. The main character starts to dream/hallucinate/remember blocked memories and it all works well together.

The Cover
I like it. It works really well and let's you know that this book will be about politics and aliens. It did jump out for me from the comic rack and since the artwork is done by the same person who does interiors, you get a great sense of how the art will look overall.
