Green Lantern

Previous Issues

Green Lantern #8

Writer: Geoff Johns
Pencils: Doug Mahnke
Inks: MArk Irwin, Ketih Champagne, Christian Alamy & Doug Mahnke

Words: 6/10
Pictures: 7/10
Recommend: Eh. Skippable middle part of the story. Next issue will be ok to pick up and skip this one.
Buy Next Issue: I guess. My retailer is only getting the Combo-Packs though. Hopefully I can get a copy of the regular edition next time because I don't want to pay $3.99 for this comic if it drops in quality every other month.

Green Lantern #7

Writer: Geoff Johns
Pencils & Cover: Doug Mahnke
Inks: Keith Champagne & Christian Alamy with Mark Irwin

Words: 6/10 -just because nothing new is presented here. doesn't excite me at all.
Pictures: 7/10 - continuity mistake. See what happens when the regular artist takes an off issue?
Recommend: Eh. I think if new readers stuck around after issue #1 then they will enjoy this little taste of Indigo. Not for me though.
Buy Next Issue: Let's start to see this story boil, something is getting ready to be cooked.

Green Lantern #6

Geoff Johns: writer
Mike Choi: guest artist

Words: 8/10 good setup, looking forward to some future payoffs.
Pictures: 9/10 - Nice choice for a guest artist.
Recommend: There is enough set up here and explanation of the new characters that a casual Green Lantern reader would be up to speed. It feels more as a prologue of things to come, and I would rather any new readers wait for the next issue to jump into the title.
Buy Next Issue: Interested to see where this goes. I'm down.

Green Lantern #5
Writer: Geoff Johns
Pencils: Doug Mahnke
Inks: Mark Irwin, Keith Champagne, Christian Alamy & Tom Nguyen

Words: 6/10 - The overall story was fun, but the steps it took to get there didn't make sense.
Pictures: 8/10
Recommend: Only if you are really willing to suspend your disbelief and not try to logically put it together. Sorta like the Green Lantern movie.
Buy Next Issue: Everyone is allowed to stumble from the consistency from time to time, just get back up on your feet the next time through.

Green Lantern #4

Writer: Geoff Johns
Pencils: Doug Mahnke
Inks: Christian Alamy & Keith Champagne

Words: 6/10
Pictures: 8/10
Recommend: See previous Green Lantern entries for recommendation information.
Buy Next Issue: Doing it while hoping for a bounce back from this issue.

Green Lantern #3

Writer: Geoff Johns
Pencils: Doug Mahnke
Inks: Christian Alamy, Keith Champagne, Mark Irwin, & Tom Nguyen

Words: 8/10
Pictures: 8/10
Recommended: Consistency is highly recommended.
Buy Next Issue: Sold!

Green Lantern #2

Writer: Geoff Johns
Pencils: Doug Mahnke
Inks: Christian Alamy and Keith Champagne

Words: 8/10
Pictures: 8/10
Recommend: The GL Train keeps on rolling!
Buy Next Issue: Chug chug chug chug chug chooooo chooooooo!!!!!!!

Green Lantern #1

Writer: Geoff Johns
Pencils: Doug Mahnke

Words: 8/10
Pictures: 8/10
Recommend: Yes, but new readers may be confused. Thankfully, DC can still attach the previous trades for Green Lantern and sell them to you to tell the story.
Buy Next Issue: I'll be here. Just keeping pace.
